The Nashua Valley Model Railroad Association models the Boston and Maine’s Fitchburg Division between Ayer MA and Mechanicville NY. Many prototype scenes are included along the way, including New England Milling in Littleton, Main St Ayer and wye, Erving Paper in Erving MA, the Hoosac Tunnel, the B&Ms Hudson River Bridge (14.5′ long) and XO tower in Mechanicville. Two-thirds of the railroad is double tracked, and full CTC is being implemented across the railroad. Operations include road jobs across the whole layout, locals from simple to difficult, yard switching and classification at two yards, and 10 MBTA round trips run on schedule and signals, all controlled by a Dispatcher. Operation positions include 13 train operator slots, which are made up by road jobs, locals and MBTA. Some jobs are only road jobs, some only local switching, and some are both. Two jobs are in yards; one is a yardmaster while the other is a class operator. Session length is 3 hours.
