The layout is modeled after a section of the Southern Pacific RR over Donner Pass, from Colfax to Truckee. Many of the structures and scenes are copies of the actual railroad as it existed in 1941. This fantastic home layout will soon be featured in Model Railroader magazine. Peter Darling is recreating the Southern Pacific route through Donner Pass as it was in 1941. Almost all of the work was done by Pete himself.
