The R&WS is a proto-freelanced layout set in 1977, operating from Pittsburgh east into the mountains. A variety of thru freights, locals, interchange, transfer runs, loaded and empty coal trains and commuter trains are run during an op session. An ABS signal system keeps trains from crashing (usually). This is the layout that is featured in the NCE ads.
