My layout is named the Coos County Railroad, based on the Upper Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and New Hampshire. I once said the layout, which is half free-lanced and the other half prototype, is ” Taste of New England”. My interests in New England and Canadian railroads in the late 1970s to 1980s time period allow me to be the MLW and shortline fan I’ve been since I was young. The layout is approximately 1500 ft in size, which fills the entire basement with a double-decked and shelf system. Half the layout features prototype operations of the Grand Trunk Eastern (CNR) Berlin Sub and my favorite shortline, the North Stratford RR. Construction began in 2003, and the layout is 95% complete with scenery. The railroad is code 83 rail and powered by Digitrax DCC.
