Ron’s layout room consists of two layouts. The Manufacturers Railroad set in 1947-1968 connects to the main layout like the prototype. The main layout was previously known as the Huntington and Hartford Railroad. This layout was featured in MR and Great Model Railroads. In 2021, I purchased the H&H, disassembled the railroad and moved it to my home. Numerous modifications had to be made to accommodate my operating scheme. Some of the original structures, track and scenery were saved. The layout features include a hidden staging yard and helix which all survived the move. The layout went through considerable reconstruction and modifications to accommodate my track plan, which features the four-track main that runs through Bridgeport, CT and includes Jenkins Curve. The main line is approximately 300 feet long. The layout was raised a foot to accommodate 3 more hidden staging yards and converted into a hybrid double decker. Since the layout is an actively under construction, the only track that is operating is the main lines. One of cool features of this layout is that it has 26’ of a city scene which will represent New Haven, CT. The opposite side of the layout will feature the City of Bridgeport, East and West Bridgeport as well. One additional feature that was added during the construction is the car float that represents Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. The layout is currently wired for DCC and currently using NCE.
