This clinic is an exploration of adapting 3D-printed parts to an existing brass model. With the resurgence of efforts to bring the real Flying Yankee back to running condition, there’s a renewed interest in modeling the Flying Yankee. Bethlehem Car Works (White Rose Hobbies) is releasing a 3D-printed Flying Yankee model. That project is the inspiration for this effort to augment the existing brass model with the incredible interior detail as well as running gear, lighting, DCC decoder, and sound. We’ll explore how this is done and discuss the benefits of using 3D-printing in modeling.
