Andy will teach the beginner modeler about modeling the basics of an HO craftsman kit. This is also a refresher for the more skilled hobbyist, with a chance to practice and learn some new techniques. The goal is to leave the clinic with a completed kit that is suitable for judging, as well as completing a building for your layout. We’ll work on bracing, creating solid corners, painting and weathering techniques. We’ll also discuss how to finish a diorama with proper placement and scenery, as well as a discussion on forced perspective. You should bring some standard kit building supplies, and we will attempt to supplement your toolbox. Suggested tools include an X-acto knife or similar cutting tool, some sort of square to hold walls at 90 degrees, and mini plastic or metal clamps. The fee will include the kit and supplies. Andy will give participants a small diorama display, paint brushes, glue, paints and cutting blades. This clinic is limited to 16 participants, and you need to pre-register.
