I actually started the railroad as a mythical shortline in the steam to diesel transition era. Then I discovered the Addison Branch of the Rutland Railroad. It ran from a main line connection to a connection with the Delaware and Hudson RR on the west side of Lake Champlain. This required a floating bridge. As you might imagine, that worked out quite poorly. The Addison struggled on until 1953 with little traffic and few trains. Then the local shippers, long neglected, banned together to buy the branch and start a shortline. That is what I model. I will be happy to share it with you. Modeling philosophy, techniques, goals and failures will be supported by a generous number of digital photos.
