The club layout, located in the Freight House at the Conway Scenic RR, is an L shaped ‘dog-bone’ configuration, with 2 separate loops and a hidden staging yard. The layout operates both steam and diesel, mainly B&M and MEC, representing New England railroad operation in the 40s/50s/60s. Many local scenes are represented, including North Conway, Crawford Notch, typical New England towns, a waterfront wharf, a paper mill with a logging branch, two yards, and a trolley line. Construction was started in the early 80s, using code 100 and some code 83 track on long bridges. The layout uses NCE’s DCC system.
NOTE: If you registered for the Conway Trip convention package, the Saturday hours allow for a quick viewing of the club layout before boarding of the “Mountaineer” train.
