Matt’s CSX Railroad traverses the east coast, from Baltimore to Richmond, with Philadelphia and Rocky Mount, NC, represented by staging. Modern six axle engines power the through-freight traffic, made up of manifest freights, plus coal, grain, and inter-modal unit trains. Additionally, there are local freights and passenger trains. Baltimore is the focal point of the layout, with its large freight yard, Penn Station and extensive port facilities. Trains are sequenced by the train master, as they become ready and dispatched verbally. The layout is 24 x 24 feet, and can support 8 operators using wireless Digitrax throttles.
