Technology has rendered many traditional methods obsolete, and photography has been no exception. Almost overnight, memory cards and computers have replaced film and darkrooms. While many techniques have changed very little, others that were previously very complex and time consuming are now simple and straightforward. This clinic discusses the classic methods that are still relevant, and through examples, provides an introduction to photo manipulation on the computer. Photo manipulation has become a craft unto itself, but it is possible to vastly improve the technical quality of our photography using everyday computers with inexpensive software.
