The HUB Module group’s yard control panels weren’t working and the designer had no documentation so no repair was possible.
Considering all the options for controlling such a yard – basically translating a couple of button pushes into a route, with Tortoises following along – it seemed that LCC would be the best available option. Also, by using LCC, we’re helping begin the HUB transition to LCC signaling – which doesn’t require an attached computer – from C/MRI signaling, which does.
How LCC works, what it can do, and its advantages over alternatives will be discussed.
I will show the programming used for the push-buttons – to appropriately light up and contribute to choosing a route.
I’ll discuss the logic that actually makes it all go – switching each Tortoise as required for each route and lighting the proper LEDs to show that route.
Then there will be a lively question and, hopefully, answer session about LCC
