Walter has spent the past few Springs driving West, to railfan and explore. This clinic will explore his 2024 trip, when he spent four days in Truckee, and pored over the Transcontinental Railroad’s Crossing of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The highlight was supposed to be walking the original 1868 tunnels through Donner Pass, but as so often happens up there, his efforts were thwarted by SNOW! But the trip was still worth it! The Donner Pass tunnels, Bloomer Cut, Norden, Colfax and the California Railroad Museum are among the stops in the presentation.
