The Eyes On The NER 2026 team is pleased to announce that there will be four layouts at the convention hotel for your viewing pleasure. There will be one T-Trak layout and three HO scale layouts in the main exhibit space.
There will be a large Free-Mo layout that will be configured to the space requirements of the hall. This will be an organic design that is inspired by prototype railroad operations. For those of you who have not seen a Free-Mo layout in person; it is a unique experience. Free-Mo is a modular layout that retains specific end-to-end connections. It differs from normal modular layouts at that point. Free-Mo allows the individual designing and building the module freedom regarding the length of the unit; the angle which it attaches to the adjoining module (say 27 degrees) and permits the introduction of grades into the module. A Free–No layout is an adventure in design and operations.

The Valley HO Trak Model Railroad Club will have a layout at the hotel. At approximately 480 square feet in area, the layout is an opportunity to experience the individual expression of ideas in a module that is part of a larger layout. We all enjoy watching trains from prototype to scale trains. As modelers, we appreciate the planning and effort that goes into building a module; transporting it; setting up the layout; operation trains and breakdown of the layout. Come see what the Valley Club has to offer.

We will have a Timesaver switching layout at the hotel to challenge your operating expertise. We know you are all experts at switching problems. We are looking to find who is “On Top of Their Game” at the convention. Rules will be posted. Come operate the Timesaver and enjoy the mental challenge of operations. We will present Certificates of excellence to the top three “Conductors” at the Sunday morning awards breakfast.
Not everyone has the space and/or time to build a medium or large layout in HO scale or larger. We all know that as the scale is reduced, we can fit more layout into the same space. N scale T-Trak is the answer to having an operating layout in a smaller space. Northeast T-TRAK will have a large layout at the hotel for your viewing pleasure. The layout will showcase the effort the club members have made in creating an N scale modular empire. Enjoy the layout and engage in conversation with the members. They like to talk about T-TRAK and the benefits an N scale modular layout brings to the table.
Funaro and Camerlengo are American manufacturers of finely detailed HO Gauge Scale Model Resin craftsman kits of rolling stock, including freight cars, passenger cars, and trolleys, building structures, and miscellaneous accessories for U.S. prototype railroads. Some “S” and “O” Scale Freight Car kits are also manufactured. Their kits span the time period from 1890’s to the present with emphasis on the transition era (1940 to the late 1950’s) and are geared toward serious modelers and hobbyists.
