NER conventions offer clinics, operating sessions, layout tours, prototype tours, model contests and showcases, along with non-rail activities. Green Mountain Express II will continue that tradition with a wide variety of clinics, including several focused on technology, electronics, 3D printing, laser cutting, Arduino-controlled railroad crossing flashers and other modern tools for model railroaders. Attendees will also have opportunities to operate on area layouts, visit outstanding home layouts and enjoy the fellowship that makes an NER convention such a memorable long-weekend experience.
The 2027 NER Convention will be held April 29 through May 2, 2027, in Burlington, Vermont. In addition to the clinics and model railroad activities, plans include several distinctive tours, including the Vermont Railway, the McNeil Generating Station and the Vermont Granite Museum.
